"I am aware of what I am: A mind turned into physical: A body. Consequently inserted in time and space, in society. I learn to move through it. Experimentation is the root of my artistic practice. How I place myself in space reflects as much about it as about me. The concerns are exposed into the foreground: The body commands and communicates. It raises questions: to the world and back to myself. My senses prioritize the image without ever forgetting the sound. I live in my imaginary and from it try to find a bridge that connects me back to reality."
Beatriz Vale was born on May 10, 2000, in Porto, Portugal, and is currently based in Berlin, Germany. She completed her degree in Fine Arts (Multimedia) in 2022 at FBAUP, Porto. She started her contact with dance and music in Braga, where she lived (2004-2013), continuing when she went back to Porto. She is a multidisciplinary artist, who finds her main focus of interest in the issues of exploring the body, expression, understanding and (de)construction what surrounds her and herself. She frequently transposes these themes into performance, dance, sound/music, video and drawings.
